Looking forward to meeting you and serving our community.”

“I have been a resident of Northampton Township for 32 years. Along with my wife, Linda, we raised our family here. I’ve seen a lot of changes. I’m running for Supervisor because we all want Northampton Township to be the best that it can be. My experience in the building services field and as an engineer makes me uniquely qualified to be a Supervisor. Our community needs people of character, integrity, and experience on the board to protect our “small town” feel.
I look forward to getting to know you prior to the election and serving you afterward.”
Candidate for School Board
Dr. Karl Fetzer is running for a seat on the school board of the Council Rock School District, representing Region #4. Dr. Fetzer’s professional background and volunteer experience will provide great value to the school board’s work in academic, financial, facility and policy oversight.
Dr. Fetzer works as a research and development engineer at Siemens Corporation, having recently earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University. Dr. Fetzer worked at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in Newtown, and volunteered at local schools as the K-12 STEM liaison for the Philadelphia section of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, and volunteered regularly in a robotics class at Neshaminy HS. These classroom experiences gave him context for the challenges students, teachers, and staff face day-to-day.
Dr. Fetzer notes, “The workplace of today is dramatically different compared to just thirty years ago — there are entire job categories that no longer exist, but also brand-new opportunities that have been created. Getting our children prepared for these possibilities goes far beyond simply integrating technology into our classrooms; there are skills students should gain and experiences they should have by the time they graduate that transcend what they will do for a living. I will promote education that prepares students for the future they will graduate into, no matter if that future is office work in corporate America, employment in a trade, creative work in the arts, service in the military, etc.”
“As a taxpayer, I understand how household budgets can be squeezed by the various federal, state, township, and school district taxes; as someone who intends to reside here permanently, I know that we need a long-term view of the school district’s finances to provide a quality education while keeping taxes affordable and property values high.”
